Free music for guitar
Sites listed here offer free music downloads for guitar in standard notation and sometimes tablature (tab)
The material is, usually, out of copyright, i.e. the composer has been dead for at least 70 years and the edition of the work was published more than 25 years ago. Some material published on some of these sites may infringe these UK copyright rules. BEWARE and if in doubt, DON'T DOWNLOAD!
Alternatively, some material is available on these sites because a living composer and/or editor permit free sharing of their work. This is most clearly the case when reference is made to a Creative Commons (CC) copyright license. It is safe to download when you see reference to a CC licence.
Lots of free stuff on ClassClef, a site curated by Malaysian guitarist, Christian Liang. Includes guitar music in standard notation and tab and downloadablle midi tracks. Pointers to yet more freebies on his Links page.
The Classical Guitar Library styles itself as "a vibrant library of guitar sheet music, which can serve in accomplishing diverse teaching and research needs."
The classical Guitar Shed is Allen Mathews' teaching site with some free sheet music and tabs.
Richard Yates' Classical Guitar Transcriptions - a library of about 150 works
Forrest Guitar Ensembles offers a range of music composed and transcribed for guitars and other instruments. It offers a range of styles and levels including guitar ensembles for schools, amateur groups and for more advanced performers.
Free-scores.com was set-up in 2000 and it offers for free almost 150,000 pieces of music in PDF, MP3 and other formats. The site has more than 11,000 items for classical guitar and also offers links to charged-for guitar works

The Music and Theatre Library of Sweden houses an extensive archive of guitar music collected by Carl Oscar Boije. Digitised printed editions from the 19th century, and autographs are available are free to download and print.
Founded in 2012, Musopen is a non-profit based out of San Francisco. Musopen works to increase access to music education by providing free music recordings, sheet music, apps, and educational materials.
The Mutopia Project is a volunteer-run effort to create a library of free content sheet music, in a way similar to Project Gutenberg's library of public domain books. It started in 2000. The music is reproduced from old scores that are in the public domain.
The Guitar School (Iceland) offers over 3,300 pages of sheet music for the classical guitar edited by Eythor Thorlaksson (1930-2018) .

Bergmann Edition, based in Denmark, is Europe’s leading publisher of new and rare music for classical guitar. Founded in 2015 by Allan Bergmann Jensen, the Bergmann imprint now represents over 80 contemporary composers working in all genres. They also publish a selective range of teaching literature.
