| Southampton Classical Guitar Society ~ Constitution | |
| The
society, like all such organisations, is governed by its constitution. This
document includes definitions covering the administration of the society,
its objectives, its annual accounts and even dissolution (something we hope
is never required!).
Because we are a registered charity, parts of the constitution are dictated by the Charity Commissioners for England & Wales. The whole document is approved by them and changes to key sections require their prior authorisation. |
As
such, the committee is considering removing any sections not requiring
special approval by the commissioners and placing them in a separate document
which can then be modified with the approval of its membership.
This may be supplemented by a set of 'Terms & Conditions' to which members agree to abide by on joining or renewal and a set of 'committee rules' detailing such things as how frequently meetings are held, how much notice etc. |
| The current constitution was adopted at a 'Special General Meeting' called specifically for this purpose on 24th July 2004 after which the society officially became a registered charity (no. 1110525). A PDF version of the document can be viewed here. | |
