Annual
reminders are sent in November. Payment is due on January 1st but it is
always reassuring to get most of them in early as it helps the committee
confirm next year's budget and activities. Chasing late payers is a miserable
and time-consuming task. Anyone unpaid after 31st Jan is technically no
longer a member but we try to be flexible. There is no "late-payment
fee" but we would like you to pay promptly please.

Future
payment method options:
- Standing
Order: we shall be investigating this in 2012 as an option.
It is a simple and trusted way of making sure everyone pays on time.
There is no cost but the downside is that if subs increase we have to
ask you to renew your standing order with your bank. We have no plans
to do that for the foreseeable future.
- Direct
Debit: this has been completely ruled out. Aside from the fact
that some people don't trust DDs, it would cost several hundred pounds
to set up, cost 40-50p per transaction and cost several more hundred
pounds if we increased fees.
- Online:
maybe we can introduce something clever on the members website where
you can pay using your debit card as with most online shopping. This
would be great for new members.
- Email:
similar to the above but maybe we can sent an email with a link attached
that recipients can click and pay by debit card?
